Celebrate Earth Day

Earth Day is coming up on April 22nd, and the 100 Memorial Blog is excited to celebrate with a few fun crafts, activities, and snacks you can try in your apartment. Gather a few close friends together and celebrate one of our favorite April holidays! We hope that you have a very happy Earth Day!
No holiday is complete without a good snack or two. We love these Earth Day cookies from Hi Sugarplum! Dye store bought sugar cookie dough blue and green to make cookies that look just like planet earth! These cookies are easy to make and take just a couple of minutes to whip up. Visit your local botanical gardens on April 22nd. There are several amazing botanical gardens located near Cambridge, MA that we think you would love visiting on Earth Day. The Fenway Garden Society and Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University are both located in Boston, MA, and they’re both beautiful options for your Earth Day celebrations.
The Fenway Garden society has the honor of being “the oldest continuously operating World War II Victory Gardens in the United States, spanning 7.5 acres with over 500 gardens.” The Fenway Gardens operate as a large community garden for the entire city to enjoy, and they hold events and workshops each month to help you become a better gardener. Learn more about participating in the events at The Fenway Gardens on their “Get Involved” page.
The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University is a wonderful place to learn more about local plants in the area. Check the site to learn more about tours, educational opportunities, and exhibits at The Arnold Arboretum.
Finish off your Earth Day celebrations with a fun craft. This Earth Day collage from I Heart Crafty Things is a fun and easy decoration for any Earth Day party. All you need to make this craft is a cardboard cake board, magazines, pencil, glue, mini wooden sticks, and a paper tag.
